Introducing Blue Holler Studios
Hi. I'm Will, and this is Blue Holler Studios.
I'm a software engineer who has spent the last decade building software, mostly at startups. Fast-moving teams, interesting problems, but also the kind of work where you rarely meet the person using what you built.
That's what pushed me to start this. I live in Weaverville, and everywhere I look there are small businesses doing great work who are being badly served by their websites and their "digital presence." The brewery with the menu buried three clicks deep. The contractor whose phone number isn't on the homepage. The restaurant whose Google profile has wrong hours and four photos from 2019.
These aren't technically hard problems. They're just not getting solved, because the people who care about them, the business owners, don't have time, and the people they hire either don't know how or don't follow through.
So: Blue Holler Studios. A small software studio doing serious work for small businesses in Western North Carolina.
What we actually do:
- Build new websites that load fast, look good on phones, and actually get people to call or book or walk in
- Take over and fix existing ones that have been limping along
- Fix what's broken on your existing site. We start with a free audit: a video walkthrough and a short written report on the three things we'd fix first
- Build custom software for businesses that need more than a marketing site (booking tools, customer portals, internal dashboards)
We're intentionally staying small. One person doing excellent work for 10 businesses is better than a 20-person agency doing mediocre work for 200. When you work with us, you work with me. Not a project manager, not a junior designer, not an offshore contractor.
If you're a local business owner and any of this resonates, request a free audit. We'll take a look at your site and your Google profile, tell you the three biggest issues, and send you a video walking through them. No pitch. No pressure. Just a genuine look at what's costing you customers.
More writing coming. In the meantime, say hi.
